Frequently Asked Questions

A home study is an evaluation required for adoption that includes interviews, home visits, and documentation to ensure a safe, loving environment for a child.

Timeframes vary, but most home studies are completed within 4–8 weeks, depending on documentation and scheduling.

Your clinician assesses safety and general readiness, this is not a white-glove inspection. The goal is to ensure your home is safe and supportive for a child.

Common documents include background checks, financial statements, medical forms, references, and autobiographical questionnaires. We provide a detailed checklist.

You do not need a “perfect” home, just a safe environment that meets basic state requirements. Any required adjustments will be explained clearly.

Interviews explore topics such as your relationship, parenting style, motivations for adoption, support systems, and readiness. Our approach is warm and encouraging.
